Professional tools from Milwaukee

We work with tools from Milwaukee, a brand that makes machines for tradespeople. Our drain cleaning machines, drain snakes and camera are made specifically for work on drains and sewer pipes, and for nothing else.

That works in your favour. We quickly find where the problem is and tackle it with care, even with a stubborn blockage. Almost everything runs on batteries, so there are no cables running through your home.

Read how we track down the cause
  • Drain camera

We look up to 36 metres into the pipe, and you watch along on the screen. That way you see the problem for yourself.

  • Pipe locator

It shows where the pipe runs and how deep the problem is.

  • Drain cleaning machines

With a drain snake we clear the drain of your washbasin just as well as the main sewer pipe.

What does it cost?

A full hour of work in the starting rate

€140.00 excl. VAT

Included:

  • Travel time and the first hour of work
  • All our machines, such as the drain cleaning machines and the drain snake
  • An explanation of what is going on, and advice to stop it coming back
  • Want to watch? Then we show you how we do it

After that you pay €25.00 for every quarter of an hour, plus a fuel charge of €5.50 per visit. We never charge separately for our machines, except the camera. It costs €70.00 and we only use it after agreeing it with you. Small consumables, parts such as a new trap, and parking are charged when they are needed, and we always tell you first.

Outside working hours a surcharge applies. All amounts exclude 21% VAT.

How to spot an honest drain company

Unfortunately, some companies take advantage of people with a blockage, especially people who don't speak Dutch. So look out for these points, with us and with any other company.

  • The rates are right there on the website. If extra costs come up, you hear about them first.
  • You pay for the time it takes, not per metre of pipe.
  • You always get a receipt showing the company name and its registration with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KVK).
  • Nobody forces you to pay in cash on the spot. You can always pay by card.
  • You know in advance who will ring your doorbell.

Frequently asked questions about drain unblocking

Do you speak English?

Yes. You can call, message or email us in English. On site, Patrick explains everything in plain English. For detailed questions, you can always call or message Job.

How much does drain unblocking cost in Groningen?

You pay a starting rate of €140.00 for travel time and the first hour of work, plus a fuel charge of €5.50 per visit. If the job takes longer, €25.00 is added for every quarter of an hour. Outside working hours a surcharge applies. All amounts exclude 21% VAT.

What if you can't fix it?

Sometimes there is a bigger problem behind it, such as a collapsed pipe. If we see that, we stop and talk it through with you first. You pay for the time and costs up to that point. Then we decide together on the next step.

How can I pay?

You pay the engineer straight after the job. You can pay by debit or credit card, foreign cards included, with iDEAL | Wero by scanning the engineer's code with your banking app, or with the exact amount in cash. For safety reasons we don't carry change. Businesses can also pay by invoice, within 14 days.

Who pays in a rented home, the tenant or the landlord?

Usually the tenant. Under the Dutch rules for minor repairs (Besluit kleine herstellingen), unblocking the drains in your home, up to the municipal sewer, is up to the tenant. If the pipe is broken or has sagged, it is usually up to the landlord. Check your rental contract as well, because some landlords include unblocking in a service package. We always tell you what caused the problem, so you can pass it on.

How quickly can you be there?

That depends on where we are at that moment. In an emergency we try to come the same day, and you hear straight away what time we will be there. If we can't make that time after all, we call you.

Can I reach you in the evening, at night and at weekends?

Yes, you can call us day and night, including weekends and public holidays. In an emergency we also come out at night. Outside working hours you pay a surcharge of 50 to 150%.

See the surcharges

Can I cancel an appointment for free?

Yes, cancelling costs you nothing up to 2 hours beforehand. If you cancel later, or we are already at your door, you pay the starting rate.

What if the blockage comes back?

Our work comes with a guarantee of 3 months. If the same blockage or leak comes back in that period, we make an appointment to come back and fix it free of charge. If it is a different blockage or leak that isn't caused by our work, for example by wipes, grease or damage from outside, our normal rates apply. We tell you that first, before we start.

Read how the guarantee works

What don't you do?

We are drain specialists, not general plumbers, so no water pipes, boilers or bathroom installations. We don't do high pressure jetting and we don't replace complete sewer systems. We don't break open floors, tiles or walls ourselves. If that is needed, we arrange it with you through a tradesperson we know, who is responsible for that work. That way you know where you stand from the start.

What can I do myself until you arrive?

Use as little water as possible. Don't flush, don't do the dishes and switch off the washing machine. Don't pour chemical drain cleaner down the drain, because it can damage your pipes and splash back dangerously. If water comes up, put towels down and keep children and pets away. If there is a leak, turn off the main water tap.

We'll get it flowing again.
